Hot to Trot studio is a small space tucked up the end of a quiet laneway. We are lucky to not be on the road, so while we’re in the centre of town, it doesn’t always feel like it. Our space holds around 17 mats, with a waiting area if you arrive a little early, or before the previous class finishes. We have a toilet with ample area to change if you need it too. Our address is 4/53 Woongarra Street, Bundaberg.
My teaching philosophy revolves around the core belief that the principles of Pilates (when paired with fun and effective movement) can transform your body awareness, your confidence and your strength. I believe classes should be *just* challenging enough that you might opt for 3 less reps than I count… but not so challenging that you can execute it and leave feeling deflated.
My job is to teach you how to execute movements, hold shapes and challenge yourself through clear teaching and supportive adjustments. If I adjust you in a movement, it’s not because you’re “doing it wrong” it because I feel you’ll gain more from the movement with a few tweaks. I’m not here to show you what to do each class. In fact, you’ll rarely see me on a mat. I hold myself to a high standard of verbally leading the room for 80% of class. (Of course if you need a visual though, I will demonstrate!)
My hope is that my classes continue to feel accessible to anyone curious about coming along. I’m qualified in Clinical pilates, so while I don’t teach in a rehab setting, I’m happy to give modifications for pregnancy and injuries that have been cleared for exercise, as needed. Each new client will fill out an intake form so i can get a well rounded picture of your pilates history and any injuries I might need to work around, as well as your goals for coming to class.
